North Carolina
North Carolina has been a heartbreaker for Democrats in the last few cycles. While we lost the state on the presidential level in 2024, we won a number of statewide races– Governor, State Supreme Court, and Attorney General. With a young, dynamic Party Chair and a very popular Democratic Senate candidate, North Carolina is a key battleground once again this cycle. A 2025 midterm gerrymander by state Republicans is attempting to eliminate the last competitive House seat, currently held by Democrat Don Davis. In addition, the Senate race is a key flip opportunity as Governor Roy Cooper runs for the seat held by retiring Senator Thom Tillis. In the State House, we have the opportunity to hold onto a veto-proof margin of seats which empowers Democratic Governor Josh Stein to veto the worst laws passed by the Republican legislatures.
