Invite Your Friends to Join Crimson Goes Blue

There’s strength in numbers. You can have major impact by telling your friends in the Harvard community about Crimson Goes Blue

When you invite friends, colleagues, and family from the Harvard community to join Crimson Goes Blue, you’ll greatly expand our ability to preserve democracy.

Here’s a sample email, which you can cut and paste and send to Harvard friends. But no need to stick to the script. Adjust it in any way that will make it most effective for people you know.

(Don’t forget to add the recipient’s name to the greeting at the top of the email and your name above the postscript at the bottom.)

Subject: Join me: Help support democracy

Message:

Hello!

I’m very happy to invite you to join me as a member of Crimson Goes Blue.

We’re an extremely effective community of 2,000 Harvard alumni, faculty, staff, and students — working together to champion democracy and support Democratic candidates in critical races.

Now we’re doubling our membership in order to double our impact. Join us!

We’ve already begun our mobilization efforts for the 2024 election, which will be another watershed moment for democracy.  In collaboration with Swing Left and other grassroots partners, we’re supporting voter protection and key elections through activism and members’ donations to carefully selected races and organizations.

As a member, you can…

  • Participate in high-impact virtual and in-person activities, connecting with voters and making a difference in key races.

  • Attend informative events with inspiring and talented members of the Harvard community.

  • Donate to the latest high-priority political races and grassroots groups, carefully selected each quarter for the Crimson Goes Blue Portfolio. By donating through the Portfolio, you’ll know that your money is going where it has the most impact.

Whether you have a lot of time or a little, you’re an introvert or an extrovert, a seasoned political operative or a novice, you can become a valuable part of this community — no cost, it’s free —  join here, or go to crimsongoesblue.org to join and learn more about our strategy, track record, and community.

I hope we can support our democracy together with Crimson Goes Blue!

YOUR NAME

PS. Here are some member quotes that capture what's special about Crimson Goes Blue:

“Volunteering with CGB showed me how easy (and fun) it is to make a difference… and I got to do it hanging out with a bunch of talented Harvard friends new and old.”

“Crimson Goes Blue had exceptionally well-designed, maximum-impact volunteer opportunities that really utilized all of my skills. This has been the best experience that I have had volunteering with any political action group.”

“Crimson Goes Blue inspired and fed my political engagement by providing me with well-chosen, well-organized and impactful opportunities to get actively involved in voting rights and campaigns.”

The sun almost always shines on Crimson Goes Blue members when they register voters in Cali (in this case at Santa Clarita’s College of the Canyons).

Invite your Harvard friends to join Crimson Goes Blue, and we’ll see even more smiling faces (like these Southern Cali folks who registered students to vote).

Know people outside the Harvard community who’d like to support Democrats and preserve democracy? No Harvard affiliation is necessary to donate to the Crimson Goes Blue Portfolio, which provides financial support to the most important Democratic races and grassroots groups at the moment. We’ve created another sample email for inviting others to donate to the Portfolio. Get it here.
